Nowadays, you never know whether someone is recording your actions. Sometimes that can be a good thing. In Omaha, Nebraska, some bad apples in the police force were caught brutally assaulting people who had merely asked them for information about their actions, prompting a formal investigation.
a man, later identified as 28-year-old Octavius Johnson, wanders over to the police to inquire about some towing, only to have a police officer first slam him against a car and then grab him by the neck, throw him to the ground before starting to punch him. A fellow officer quickly joins in. The police then chase Octavius’ brother, Juaquez, into his house. They also call in help, so that 12 cars are eventually on the scene, as the police terrorize the neighborhood.
Call out bad cops supports law enforcement. Those of us who respect and admire the men and women who serve the public need improve their reputation and work environment if we help weed out the corrupt, the lazy, and the brutal cops. We need to make sure all law enforcement officers get proper training, especially so that they’re not handling their guns dangerously by overusing them or using them incorrectly; and, once they get that training, we need to stop the DHS from buying up all their supplies.
