Trio of Minority Teens were playing “Pick ‘em out and knock ‘em down” when they killed Illegal Beaner Delfino Mora with 12 welfare kids
Assistant Cook County State’s Attorney Terry Clancy told Judge Israel Desierto the three teenagers were playing a “game where the offender picks an innocent victim and knocks him out by striking him and likely robbing him as well.”
Jones is accused of striking the fatal blow and of owning the cell phone used to film the attack in a West Rogers Park alley early July 10.
Jones spotted Mora, a salvager who was collecting empty pop cans in the 6300 block of North Artesian, and told the others, “I think I’m going to knock this muther fucking mexican out,” Clancy said.

16-year-old boy has been charged as an adult in the fatal beating of a man attacked as he collected cans in a Far North Side alley last week, police said.
The boy, whose name and booking photo were not released by police because he is a juvenile, was charged late Saturday with first-degree murder in the slaying of Delfino Mora, 62, who was found beaten in an alley in the 6300 block of North Artesian Avenue just before 8 a.m. Tuesday, police said.
The boy was scheduled to appear in Cook County Central Bond Court today.
The victim had been collecting cans in the West Rogers Park alley when the boy “severely battered” him, police News Affairs said in an email.
Mora, of the 6000 block of North Washtenaw Avenue, was found unconscious but breathing and taken to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston in critical condition. He died Wednesday at 3:30 p.m., and the Cook County medical examiner’s office determined Thursday, following an autopsy, that Mora died from blunt head trauma in an assault.
Valentin Mora, one of Delfino Mora’s 12 children, said his father was disabled, so he would often collect cans to help support the family.

As soon as I got in my car and turned it on, he was pulled behind me and waved me to go as if he was being a courteous driver (I thought he was just someone driving down the street). So I proceeded to wave thank you and pull out of my parking spot, turning down down a side street. He followed me on that turn, and after I began being suspicious of him I took another few strange turns to make sure….and sure enough and he tailed me the entire time. After that I got onto 111th going east, then north on Kedzie and I was on the phone with 911 as he chased me going 70mph. He even tailed me as I U-TURNED 3 times in front of the EP police station while on 911. This guy was CRAZY, definitely trying to hurt me…and I can easily say this was the most horrifying things that has ever happened to me. He got away when I finally saw the police, which is completely freaking me out. So please please please be careful coming out of the bars and getting into your cars. Feel free to re-post this on your pages and tell your friends to be careful while out and about in the neighborhood. Thanks.
